While I haven't played the whole game yet, from the looks of the trailers and the way it looked when I saw the game at Tokyo Game Show 2021, it looks like a fun game. Judging by the trailers and the early sales of the game, I expect the new game to do extremely well. Whether or not it will become popular enough to warrant being ranked higher on the charts is still up in the air, but it's good to know that it will have a solid launch. I'm not sure if the online version of this game will be more popular than the old one, but it is good to know that there will be a new release and it will be launching simultaneously with the other consoles out there. With the new version, the game will be releasing on the new consoles at the same time, which should help the release gain more fans. The downside to playing on the other console versions is that some of the special features of the game like the item shop and mission system aren't available. If you don't have a PlayStation 2, the game can be played on the Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii. Although it can be purchased digitally, the actual retail release will only come with a standard English copy of the game. The first episode of the game was released on the 7th of June and can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store for a fairly decent price. The new game in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis has a lot of promise for its upcoming months and beyond. The new game in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will also feature four-player co-op, which is something that the previous version didn't have as it limited players to just two. This would mean that there will be no fighting in the game and it will be more open in terms of story telling. However, the story in the new console release is said to be more focused on the sci-fi theme. In terms of story line, the game does follow the original story where the main character returns to the same place as the first game and the first episode takes you to the universe where there are warring planets. The colors are much brighter, the textures are better detailed and the entire image is much more lifelike. The first noticeable difference is the enhanced graphics engine that is being used. With this comes a number of improvements that were seen in the former title. One thing about Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is that it is being developed by New Line Studio, the developer of the successful PSP title. Since this is still in the development stage, it's highly possible that we'll see several more added characters in the future. This would allow more variety in playing the same character but will also require a lot more skill and strategy from the player. It has been mentioned that the new battle system will allow players to change their character's between four different characters. The reason why this is mentioned is simple the internet is flooded with leaks from the manufacture and it doesn't make sense for them to publish the game on a platform that most gamers won't be using either.Īnother interesting part of the rumors revolves around the battle system and the graphics. The rumor states that the company will launch Phantasy Star Online 2 on Nintendo Switch at a cheaper price than the previous versions. The reason why Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis is still exclusive to Japan is due to the simple fact that the original game on Switch is simply a cloud-based adaptation of Phantasy Star Online 2: New Generations and hence are not available in other markets.īut wait, it doesn't end there! A new rumor has surfaced stating that the upcoming release of Phantasy Star Online 2: New Generations for Xbox One and Xbox 360 will feature a price cut.
